Cognizant (finally) makes SAP GSP

(By Anthony Miller – Wednesday, 13th May 2009 4:00pm). Cognizant finally got its SAP ‘merit badge’ at the annual SAPphire user conference yesterday, being appointed an SAP Global Services Partner. It must have been a real thorn in Cognizant’s side with all its India-based peers having got their badges over the past couple of years; Cognizant was looking a bit like Little Orphan Annie in SAP-land.

The list of SAP’s GSP’s is a veritable who’s who in the ERP world, as in: Accenture, Atos Origin, BearingPoint, Capgemini, CSC, Deloitte, Fujitsu, HCL AXON, HP, IBM Global Business Services, IDS Scheer, Infosys, intelligence, L&T Infotech, Logica, Satyam, Siemens Business Services, TCS and Wipro. I must admit I hadn’t realised L&T Infotech were now among them. Very surprised, actually, as apparently you have to sell-through a heck of a lot of SAP licences to get on this list, and LTI’s total revenues are little more than $400m p.a. Anyway, well done Cognizant.
