Stephen Timms update

(By Richard Holway 10.00pm Wednesday 5th Aug 09) A quick update on my earlier post - Stephen Timms to take over at Digital Britain. A reader has pointed out that ,although Timms had indeed been the author of Ovum's report into video conferencing in the 1980s which turned out to be pretty wide of the mark, Timms was also the author of a 1987 Ovum report predicting that Broadband would break into the mainstream in 2000. Which is pretty much what happened!
As I said in my earlier post, it is actually good, for once, to have a politician in charge of a brief where he actually has some previous experience!
