Sage and Netsuite

(By Richard Holway 9.00am 5th March 09) I quote from my friend George O'Connor's note for Panmure Gordon this morning.

"What started as a positive for Sage – launching an open beta trial of a forthcoming on-demand offer – is turning into an operational negative. Yesterday, on-demand vendor NetSuite offered Sage customers a 50% discount if they switch to its offer. While NetSuite is likely to have limited success, in our view, the case illustrates that in a down market customers want to pay less. Switching to SaaS on the cheap is one tactic competitors take, but Sage needs to draw the wagons around its 5.8m customer base. Competitors are drawing nearer."

This, of course, comes just a day after what many of our readers have described to us as a 'PR triumph' for KashFlow. See Sage in spat with Kashflow.
