We are delighted to announce the launch of our second research programme, OffshoreViews, a regular stream of concise research notes on all things offshore. OffshoreViews will cover all aspects of the offshore scene and how it impacts the UK software and IT services (SITS) market. This will of course include the major India-based SIs particularly TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, Patni, and of course Satyam. We will also cover some of the ‘unusual’ suspects too, such as, Tech Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and MindTree.
OffshoreViews will also take a close look at the global delivery ambitions and achievements of the traditional IT services players, including Accenture, IBM, Logica, Capita, Capgemini, Atos Origin and Steria – and more besides. All of these players use offshore (to a greater or lesser extent!) to deliver their services into the UK market and often find themselves fighting head-to-head against the formidable India-based pure-plays.
In the inaugural OffshoreViews issue, we tell you how the top India-based SIs fared in the UK in 2008. Their UK revenue growth was quite mind-boggling; they have clearly made great strides forward both in market share and in the UK rankings. In this issue we also present what will become our regular quarterly round-up of the key financial and operating metrics of the top India-based SIs. This will be of interest to any traditional IT services firm with Indian delivery centres to compare and contrast your operational performance with the best of the pure-plays.
Future issues of OffshoreViews will include exclusive interviews with players in and around the offshore scene, including L&T Infotech CEO, Sudip Banerjee. L&T are now Satyam’s largest shareholder and recently threw their hat in the ring as one of the potential bidders for the entire business.
OffshoreViews is only available to clients on paid-for TechMarketView subscriptions and can be downloaded today. If you would like to join the SITS players ‘in the know’, please contact Puni Rajah (prajah@techmarketview.com) and she will be more than delighted to tell you all you want to know about our unique research programmes.
