TechMarketView launches IndustryViews Quoted Sector

We are proud to announce the launch the fourth major research stream in the TechMarketViewViews” series, IndustryViews: Quoted Sector (IVQS). In the inaugural edition, available now to TechMarketView subscription service clients, you will see the first of our quarterly reviews of the UK software and IT services (SITS) quoted sector. Not only do we analyse the performance over the quarter, but we look at longer term trends over 12, 36 and 60 months. And, uniquely to TechMarketView, we set this in context of the sector going back to when we started tracking the market in the late ‘80s.

In IVQS we also look at each of the significant subsectors: software, IT services, BPO and ITSAs (IT staff agencies). Although BPO players and ITSAs are classed in the FTSE Support Services index, the fortunes of many of them – like Capita, Xchanging, Spring, Harvey Nash, and many more, are intimately tied to the prospects of the ‘traditional’ IT services marketplace. Also uniquely, we compare the performance of the UK quoted IT services sector with benchmark players in Europe – such as Atos Origin, Steria, Sopra and Capgemini – and those in the US, like Accenture, IBM, HP, CSC and Cognizant.

IVQS will be followed by sister publications IndustryViews: M&A (IVMA) and IndustryViews: Private Equity (IVPE), which basically ‘do what they say on the tin’! Our aim is to bring you the most complete assessment of UK SITS industry dynamics, investor sentiment and valuations that you are likely to find, based on our many, many years of tracking the marketplace. Also watch out next month for CompanyViews, the authoritative rankings of the leading players in the UK software and IT services marketplace.

Don’t forget you can find our deeper analysis of the Tech Mahindra/Satyam deal in our latest OffshoreViews note also in the Research section on the TechMarketView website. Our next OffshoreViews note will take a look at Indian BPO pure-play – and ex-British Airways captive – WNS. WNS hit the headlines last July winning a $1bn BPO contract with UK insurer, Aviva. Yes, another India-based player is after your lunch.

All the “Views” research programmes are exclusively available to TechMarketView subscription service clients. If you want to join those ‘in the know’ and get access to IndustryViews, OffshoreViews, CompanyViews, MarketViews, AnalystViews and of course the UKHotViews archive, please drop Puni Rajah a line at prajah@techmarketview.com.
