(By Richard Holway 9.00pm 15th June 09) Further to our report last week – Gartner cuts global IT forecasts –IDC has now lowered its forecasts for European IT services growth "by one percentage point – from plus 0.6% to minus 0.6%". (Note - before you point it out, that's actually a 1.2% difference. Hope the rest of IDC's maths is more accurate!) “Looking beyond 2009, IDC foresees a slow recovery to start in 2010 - with a modest 1.3% growth”. Support & Training and Project Services will be badly hit with 4.8% and 3.0% declines respectively. But outsourcing is still growing – plus 4.2%.
TechMarketView has been forecasting a decline in UK IT Services in 2009 for some considerable time. We do not see any uptick until H2 2010.
